Diego Spitaleri - Reflection

Diego Spitaleri, an Italian composer and pianist, has been a major presence in the music world since 1979, performing in over 2000 concerts across genres like jazz, gospel, world, ethno, pop, and contemporary classical music. With a rich background that spans composing for theater, dance, and video, he has collaborated with numerous musicians and founded his own bands. In 2017, he produced and recorded Pianofor(t)ever, a solo piano album featuring 13 compositions, and since 2021, he's been releasing singles leading up to his next CD.

What draws me to Spitaleri’s Reflection is the dreamlike atmosphere he creates in his recordings. The soft, velvety sound he achieves on the piano feels immersive, almost as if you’re floating through his melodies. I especially appreciate the pacing of his compositions—they unfold gently, giving each note the time to resonate and breathe. The melodies are beautifully simple yet deeply expressive, leaving a lasting impression long after the music ends.
